Katy C. Carignan

Attorney

Katy Carignan has spent her legal career helping individuals build businesses, plan for the future, provide 501c3 assistance to nonprofits, drafting and reviewing contracts, and helping families through the estate and trust administration process. She loves her 1914 home on Lake Huron and the natural beauty of the area.

Katy is also passionate about arts and culture. After working in the arts as a child, it has remained a lifelong passion. She co-founded a new space for Arts and Culture in Rogers City, the Stone House Studio, helped found and served as Fundraising Chair for the Murals on Main Festival, serves as a member of the design and the organization committees for RC Main Street. In addition, Katy founded an improv group and in 2025 is helping to create a new yoga co-op and yoga studio in Rogers City, Loftara.

As a young attorney, Katy helped found the Urban Green Partnership in Philadelphia, PA to help community members, businesses, and nonprofits find ways to make the city a healthier and greener place. She rehabbed a 1924 warehouse to create a residency and incubator for artists to live and work in downtown Miami, FL. The project took a blighted property and made it an anchor space in a new downtown arts center. She was the Director of Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and LegalArt where she helped artists and small arts businesses with legal issues.
